Small-Prayer Group Pilots

Interested in helping us pilot small-group prayer experiences?

Three types of prayer groups will meet for six weeks from October 10th through November 14th (the groups will decide which day/time to meet based on availability of group members.)  At the end of the pilot, the groups will be asked to report back to our Adult Faith Formation Coordinator, Beth Sinclair, about their experiences and whether they think this type of prayer group should be made available parish-wide in the future.

The Prayer group will use one of these three methods:

1. Lectio Divina—praying with the scriptures for the upcoming weekend.

2.  Study Method using a pre-set program based on our 7 Sacraments.

3. “Book Club” method where members read chapters from a book during the week and discuss it during their group prayer meeting.

Adult Faith Formation

Adult Faith Formation is the ministry in our Parish that works to provide ways for each of us to build our relationship with God, with Jesus and with our Community. That is done by fostering community events like soup suppers, movie nights and Lenten Neighborhood Masses held in people’s homes. The Adult Faith Formation team also organizes our annual parish missions and evenings of reflection as a means of nourishing our faith and by offering presentations by speakers who will help educate us in our faith as mature adults. No special skills or talents are needed to be a part of this ministry. The Adult Faith Formation team welcomes anyone who wants to help organize these events and is willing to help do the work of planning and organizing. You won’t be leading these events – outside speakers are brought in or parishioners with the skills and education to lead the events are invited to lead them. You just need to have a desire to help our community grow as a community of faith that is alive and growing.  For more information, please contact Beth Sinclair at

Mission Statement
The Mission of Adult Faith Formation is to ensure that all members of our faith community experience:  a Living Faith that grows and develops over time, learns from experience, and is adaptable to changing conditions while maintaining its essential identity.  A Living Faith always demonstrates the presence of the Holy Spirit at work in the life of the disciple.

An Explicit Faith rooted in a personal relationship with Jesus lived in the Christian community.  An explicit faith is, above all, conversion to Jesus Christ, full and sincere adherence to His person and the decision to walk in His footsteps.

A Fruitful Faith that enjoys the fruits of the Spirit which are, “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (Gal 5:22-23). Mature, fruitful faith is open to the action and power of God’s Spirit and cannot remain idle or unproductive.

Here within the Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit we strive to accomplish this mission by offering opportunities for our community to grow in knowledge (with activities like the annual Parish Mission), grow as a community of faith (with activities like the Lenten Neighborhood Masses)and grow in their Catholic faith by walking with the adults of our community wherever they are on their own journey of faith.
