Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers serve at Mass by helping the priest distribute Holy Communion to the faithful. Additionally, they may also take Communion to the sick and homebound. To become an EM, classes are offered by the Diocese. Before attending the classes, the pastor must give approval to the parishioner wishing to become a part of this ministry. Qualifications needed to serve the community in this ministry include having reverence for the Eucharist, and living one’s life as an example to others. Anyone who feels called to serve in this way should contact the parish office.
The mission of this Ministry is to be present and assist the priest in the celebration of the Mass in order to render fitting honor to God and growth in holiness of God’s people.
