Weston Spiritual Getaway

For many years, members of the parish have celebrated a weekend of community renewal in Vermont.  The weekend is focused around services with the Benedictine Monks at the Weston Priory in Weston, VT and organized activities including sharing and time for reflection.

Our journey will begin on Friday morning where we gather at the Mullica Hill Parish Center for coffee and bagels. We are ready to leave by 7:00 a.m. anticipating an early afternoon arrival to allow some down time before Mass at the Priory. Travel to Weston is in vans with comfortable seating (only 2 people to a seat). Other travel accommodations can possibly be arranged.

We make two stops along the way, one of which is for a delicious brown bag lunch prepared by our kitchen team who prepares all meals for the weekend.

Dress for the entire weekend is casual, even for trips to Weston Priory. The schedule allows for down time where you can take walks and enjoy the quiet, the mountains and the beautiful fall leaves on the native trees dressed by our creator; a perfect setting for prayer and reflection.

We enjoy very nice accommodations in condos at the Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow Vermont. For more information about Okemo, visit Each condo has its own kitchen where participants can enjoy their morning coffee, some meals and snacks with their condo mates. Depending on the number of participants, 4-6 people share a condo with 2 people to a room.

Weston Priory is located four miles north of the village of Weston, Vermont, at the edge of the Green Mountain National Forest. Each day we are offered the opportunity to attend Morning Prayer with the monks and we attend Mass at the Priory. The chapel, visitors’ center, and grounds afford an atmosphere in which quiet reflection and prayer are accessible to all. To learn more about the Benedictine Monks of Weston Priory, visit their website,

In the evening after dinner everyone gathers for a prayer experience which will be a combination of ritual and sharing focused on a deeper relationship with Christ and each other.

This weekend getaway gives all who come together an opportunity not only for personal spiritual renewal but to get to know fellow parishioners in a smaller group setting.
