Jesus: Real Presence in the Eucharist

May 31, 2024

This weekend, the Church celebrates Corpus Christi Sunday, also known as the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Our belief in this Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist derives from the literal interpretation of the promise of Christ to give us his Body and Blood for our spiritual food and drink. Catholics believe in a process called transubstantiation: in other words, the substance of bread and wine is changed into the entire substance of the risen and glorified Body and Blood of Christ, retaining only the accidents, (taste, color, shape) of bread and wine.

Can there be any religious moment in which God is closer to us than our Catholic Mass?  Join us this weekend and celebrate the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist at Mass.

Looking ahead, we have some great get togethers;

Gen Now YM will meet this Sunday June 1,  at the Youth Center in MH for a Planning Meeting from 5:30-6:30 pm followed by a Wiffle Ball game, and pizza from 6:30-8:00 pm. For info on Gen Now YM happenings, check out the bulletin board in the Mullica Hill lobby.

The parish cookout is on for next weekend after the 4 pm Mass. The weather wasn’t friendly when it was originally scheduled a couple weeks ago. Hamburgers, hot dogs and lots of good food … and great company. Can’t beat that! Next Saturday, June 8 after the 4 pm Mass.

Have a blessed weekend and come worship with us. Jesus presence is real in the Eucharist.
