Liturgical Ministries

Altar Server – Children who have completed the third grade through high school may serve the parish community in this capacity.  Training is offered through the parish.  Please contact the parish office for information about serving.

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion – EM’s serve at Mass by helping the priest distribute Holy Communion to the faithful.  Additionally, they may also take Communion to the sick and homebound.  To become an EM, classes are offered by the Diocese.  Before attending the classes, the pastor must give approval to the parishioner wishing to become a part of this ministry.  Qualifications needed to serve the community in this ministry include having reverence for the Eucharist, and living one’s life as an example to others.  Anyone who feels called to serve in this way should contact the parish office.

Lector – The Lectors proclaim the Word at each Mass.  Lectors read the two readings and the Prayers of the Faithful.  Training is provided by the Diocese throughout the year.  Look for up-coming training sessions in the parish bulletin.

Environment and Art – The Environment and Art Committee is a group of men and women whose ministry is to prepare the worship and gathering spaces in ways that enhance the parish worship experience.  Meetings to plan and set work dates depend on the seasons of the Church year.  Members have a great variety and range of talents, and more hands are always welcome!  Michelle Goebel can be reached at and Meghan DelMonte can be reached at

Liturgy Committee – The Liturgy Committee, using the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM), chooses prayers and music, and coordinates the rituals which will be used at Mass on Sundays.  The time commitment to serve on this committee includes:  1) attendance at a committee meeting once a month for approximately 1 1/2 hours, 2) approximately 20 hours per year working with other members on planning sessions to prepare liturgies,  and 3) attendance and assistance as needed at Liturgy on at least one night during the Triduum.  The Liturgy Committee meets on the 4th Monday of the month.  New members are invited and welcome!  Contact Anita Tanzola at for more information.

Ministers of Hospitality – Ministers of Hospitality (formerly Ushers) welcome and assist the assembly at Mass.  Men, women and families are welcome to participate in this essential ministry.  Contact for more information.
