It is with sadness but hope in the Resurrection that the Diocese of Camden announced the death of Rev. Michael P. Rush. Father Rush was pastor of Holy Name of Jesus Parish. In 1996, when Father Rush became pastor, plans were formulated to celebrate a special anniversary of the Holy Name of Jesus Church. For the occasion of its 100th anniversary, the church was refurbished both inside and out. An historic designation by the State of New Jersey was given, ensuring the church’s preservation in the future.
Always when I ran into Father Rush, he always had kind words of support and expressions of love and fond memories for Holy Name of Jesus. The information released by the diocese:

At the request of the family there will be no viewing. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by Most Reverend Dennis J. Sullivan, will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 27 at Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish, 27 Kresson-Gibbsboro Road, Gibbsboro. Reverend Monsignor Louis Marucci will be the homilist.
Burial will be at a later date.
