I hope you staying cool during this heatwave.
This weekend, we are celebrating with the Sisters of Mary Immaculate their 25 years of ministering in the United States. Many know the sisters, who live in Elmer and come from Kenya. They will support our music ministry sharing their music and culture during the 4:00 PM Mass and 8:30 AM Mass this weekend. Following the 4 and 830 Masses, they’ll be available after with different items for sale to support their ministry in the United States.
Fr. Joey is packing up and moving his belongings. He will be presiding at the 8:30 Mass this weekend. If you can’t make the farewell mass next weekend, this is an opportunity to wish him well and express gratitude. Next Sunday, June 30 is farewell day. Fr. Joey will preside at the 10:30 Mass along with our deacons and me. Following the Mass, stick around for the picnic to honor Fr. Joey. Fr. Joey will transfer on July 1, and we will welcome Fr. Chris Bakey.
There are lots of activities and plans going on for our youth ministry. We call our youth ministry Gen Now. Sunday, there’ll be a drop in at the WPC with pizza and basketball. The July and August events are available at the welcome kiosks in both parish centers. Our youth are Gen Now .. in other words, they are the church today, not in waiting for tomorrow. Gen Now, come and be a part of it.
Have a great weekend, and know you belong here … bring someone too!
